The city is considered as French capital of the catering trade (the world-well-known cook Paul Bocuse originates from Lyon and maintains several restaurants in the environment of the city), silk and the light. Every year on 8 th of December the Lyoner celebrates the 'Fête of the lumières' (celebration of the lights), where thousands of candles and wind lights are placed into the windows.
