Hostelling International is the brand name of the International Youth Hostel Federation, the organisation which represents Youth Hostel Associations worldwide. Today, Hostelling International is one of the world’s biggest membership organisations for youth and offers its 3,5 million members a choice of around 4,000 accommodation centres in 76 countries worldwide. Despite their name, youth Hostels are open to people of all ages in virtually every country. They offer a good standard of accommodation in friendly surroundings at affordable prices. Throughout the world they meet the needs of independent and budget travellers of all ages – including:

They are a non-governmental, non-profit organisation recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation). The IYHF is based in the United Kingdom and is recognised as a charity organisation by the Charity Commission.

Attention: in all international youth hostels, the group leaders have to show their valid membership card of Hostelling International at the check-in.
