Since many years Lausanne was an important milestone of the North-South axis, half-way between North Sea and Mediterranean. The old part of town, from that the gothic cathedral from that 13. century with their four towers and 105 colored windows stands out, was built in the Middle Age. As magnificent example of art and architecture at that time it offers the framework with its stone-paved lanes and the style-pure manor-houses to ideal strolls in the midst of neat mode shops, arts and crafts shops and cosy Bistros.
