Following the Sounds of Music

In the following days you have the opportunity to discover the heart of Europe with its diversity of culture, landscapes and languages. Europe is a fascinating puzzle of unique tradition and culture from one country to the next. On top of that many of the great musicians lived in Europe. Thus, the art of music is of major importance to the Europeans and a dazzling variety exists. During this route you will encounter a choice of musical styles in many different countries!

1st day: Vienna

You spend your first day in Europe in one of the most popular and musical cities - Vienna. Take the chance to see the glamorous Ringstrasse with all the historical buildings, including the city hall, the houses of parliament, the city palace and the famous opera house. In the evening you have ample time to listen to your first concert.

2nd day: Vienna - Prague

In the morning there is plenty of time for a guided city tour of Vienna before you leave Austria. The next city with a long tradition of classical and modern music is Prague, which is only a short ride away from Vienna. Prague is famous for its opera, the puppets, the bohemian glass and the first-class beer. So just sit back and enjoy an evening performance in one of the theatres in the company of your guide.

3rd day: Prague - Dresden

Before you leave Prague enjoy a guided city tour and a visit to the famous Hradschin Castle.  Afterwards you head off to another highlight among the European cities of music – Dresden. This German city is not only famous for its classical and modern architecture but also has a long tradition in music. The opera house is a perfect representative of the historical part of the city. How about watching a performance in this majestic house?

4th day: Dresden - Berlin

In the morning you continue your journey to Berlin. You have the opportunity to see famous palaces, squares and the famous Brandenburger Tor (gateway from west to east and vice versa). Music plays an important role in Berlin but it is difficult to say which style dominates in this city. You go to concert halls where classical music is performed, Jazz venues, as well as mordern bars where you can listen to rock and pop.
Berlin offers unique shopping opportunities. Don’t miss this chance – go out and get some new CDs, souvenirs or gifts.

5th day: Berlin - London

Today you catch a plane to London. Once in London you enjoy a sightseeing tour of the famous Tower Bridge and the crown jewels, Westminster Abbey, castles and palaces of the Royal Family, as well as the best places for listening to music. Just like in Berlin you can listen to every kind of music in London as well. Furthermore London is famous for its incomparable musicals and theatre performances – so do not miss this unique chance!

6th day: London - Bruges

In the morning you still have time to experience life in London and to buy some gifts and souvenirs. In the afternoon you continue your journey to the city of Bruges in Belgium.  Bruges has a calm and relaxing charisma with its parks and its nice taverns and restaurants. The numerous waterways add to the city’s special atmosphere. You can buy delicious chocolates for your loved ones back home and listen to a medieval concert in the home town of old and medieval music.

7th day: Bruges - Brussels

Round off your visit with a typical “Grachten – Cruise” in Bruges before you start your journey to Brussels. The building styles of this city could hardly be more diverse: neo classic or gothic houses stand next to ultramodern office centres of banks, insurances or the European Union. The best known landmark of Brussels is the oversize "Atomium" with its amusement park. Together with your guide you will find hidden corners and visit the famous Mannequin Pis during a relaxing evening walk.

8th day: Brussels - Paris

Today you head off to Paris – the city of romance and romantic music. Mozart is only one of the many musicians who spent a lot of time in Paris: He performed several concerts for King Ludwig XV at Versailles castle - which you can visit as well.

9th day: Paris

As Paris has so much to offer you spend the entire day in this exciting city. First you participate in a morning sightseeing tour with a guide and afterwards you have the chance to discover Paris on your own. Take your time for a shopping tour as you will be sure to find a great variety of souvenirs here.

10th day: Paris - Vienna

Today you are leaving Paris to fly to Vienna, where you spend your last night before leaving Europe.

11th day: Vienna

Goodbye Europe!
